Today my class watched a recent episode of BTN. It included topics on: UV Warning, TV Sports, Koala Saftey, Rememberence Day and Mango Season.
Koala Season- People are destroying thier natural habitats. They're changing thier home's into human development. ( Buildings,Houses,Parks ect) And in result of this action the koalas are being hit by cars and other vehicles. This is because, they are being forced to cross the roads because of predators or as above.
So scientists are working on making roads safer for koalas. They are doing this by having little barriers in the middle of roads, tunnles underneath the roads or some bridges.
However, there is a problem. They do not know if the koalas will figure out how to use these. They think so but are not certain.

1. Discuss the main issues raised in the Taser debate story with another student. check!! 2. Brainstorm a list of words that describe the job of a police officer. dangerous, unsafe, dumb 3. When is capsicum spray used by police? when the criminal is armed. 4. What are the disadvantages of capsicum spray? it lasts for like an hour 5. What does Taser stand for?tom swifts electrical gun. 6. Describe how a Taser works. it releases a sudden electrical jolt. 7. What are the advantages of police using Tasers? 8. Why have some people questioned their use? 9. Why do they have a camera built in? 10. Do you think police should be allowed to use Tasers? Explain your answer.
4/10/2010 ;D Today room 14 watched the latest episode of , BTN ( Behind The News). This contained segments of different topics. One was Rabbits. Many people have taken up a hobby of rabbit jumping, there is lots of genres of jumping for example, high jump. I have chosen to write about this topic because I own a rabbit and I would be interested in training him for this. Some interesting facts are, they have to spray the corse 24/8/2010My fav. book is called Now by Morris Glietsman. It is awesome!! It is part of a trilogy.. I think... unless he is writing more. Anyhow it is a follow on from the first book- ONCE the second book-THEN and the third one- NOW.. It is an awesome book about Felix who is around his mid eighty's who is a jewish survivor of the Holocaust. Now I am not gonna' spoil it anymore!! You'll have to find out for your self. :) 4/9/2010Well... Today I had R.E. Our teacher was late.And we thought he was not coming so Miss Joyce told us to select a quiet activity to do for the session. Then Mr Ferret rocked up like ten minutes late while we were drawing and every one was like.... AAAAAAW. It was sooooo funny. Well I thought any ways. :DThen.. We had sports where we had gymnastics. Room 14 was split up into little groups. First up the group I was in had the monkey-bars. Then we had the beam.. This is the good bit where me and Tylah showed everyone our beam routine... Madness!! Then we had the ropes.... :p. THE ROPES SUCK!! LoL then we had the climbing frame which was fun. Hehehe, when your up ther you feel like saying ' IM THE QUEEN OF THE WOOOOORLD!'One last thing before I go to sleep... Cya ;D7.9.2010 :)

..Volcanoes 1. Where in Indonesia did a volcano erupt recently? In the North-East of Indonesia
2. Describe the dangers to people living close to the volcano. You have no clue when the volcanic eruption can occur, when the volcano explodes there is no telling what will happen.
3. A dormant volcano won’t erupt again. True or false? FALSE
4. What is the name of the volcano in Naples, Italy? Vaseuvius?? or something like that.
5. Describe what happened to the city of Pompeii about 2000 years ago. When the volcano erupted it covered everything it touched including peoples cast, and thousands of years old artifacts.
6. When did it last erupt? 70 something years A.D
7. How do scientists try to predict when volcanoes will erupt? They look at the past eruptions and look for any patterns.
8. Describe what happens in the magma chamber of a volcano. The magma slowly builds up towards the surface
9. A scientist who studies volcanoes is called a a. Seismologist
b. Lavologist
c. Volcanologist THIS ONE !!!!!! 10. Describe what you think it would be like to live in the shadow of a volcano.
I think it would be a bit freaky, 'cause your constantly living in dander of the volcano erupting.. And you don't know when it is going to erupt.
